I didn't really think about breeding chickens until some breeding groups began to drop into my lap. I've bred stock before and really enjoyed it, so once these hens with their matching roosters started to arrive, the possibilities began to look quite exciting. Of course, one of the problems is keeping everyone separate, not only to avoid fights between the roosters, but also to ensure that hens get fertilised by the appropriate sire.
All this took place over the space of about 3 months.
I must admit I've been really stretched at times to get the accomodation ready, but it has been a wonderful challenge, and following up on all the work by actually breeding and raising some chickens of various breeds is an exciting prospect.
I have breeding groups of the following Fowls:

Leghorn (Duckwing, Cuckoo).
And the following Bantams:
