I am a qualified lawyer who worked for 17 years in the New Zealand Government before moving north to my parents' rural property following my dad's untimely death.
I decided to run dairy goats on the 10 acre property and set up breeding Nubians and Nubian Crossbreds. I was for a time the Secretary of the NZ Nubian Breed Society and got involved in breeding and bloodlines. Animals soon became one of my passions.
All my plans came to an abrupt end because we had unwittingly bought in stock infected with a serious disease. I tried to fight it and I didn't succeed. For 10 years my sheds and fields were all but deserted ....
For most of those years I looked after my mother who gradually devloped Alzheimers Disease. She passed on in February 2007, and very shortly after that I was introduced to breeding poultry. The birds have transformed my sadly deserted breeding sheds and pens - or, put more correctly, it was I who transformed them with timber, hammer and nails, and chicken-wire (hard work), and the birds keep them vibrant and lived-in at last.
In addition to the birds I have 4 dogs and a horse - all rescues - some kunekune pigs and 5 cats.
I have a lifetime in art, eleven years' experience with Photoshop and Illustrator, and ten years on the Internet.
I have exhibited and won awards in NZ. My art has been in 2 International Juried Art Expos and my paintings are in several countries worldwide.
I freelance in Graphics and Webdesign, both Online and in the "Real" world.
